A great movie to watch with family and friends, magadheera is the story of a man whose marriage is cancelled after he fails his engineering exam. His wife falls in love with another man who doesn't want her if she has a husband. The man then meets a woman and falls in love with her, but she's already engaged to someone else. It's an old Bollywood flick starring Ramya Krishna and Chiranjeevi that was first released 20 years ago in 1999. But why do we feel like watching it again? And suddenly, you realise - it's the movie that made its lead actor a megastar. It is the film that launched Ram Charan's career, who happens to be the son of Chiranjeevi. Let's get back to how it all began - Ram Charan was about to act in Ram Gopal Varma's ambitious project titled 'Immortals of Meluha' when he got an offer to act in his father's film. And apparently, Charan ended up choosing his father's film over 'Immortals of Meluha.' "Actually, I did not want to be part of my dad’s movie. That is why I chose 'Immortals of Meluha'. Then my dad offered me the role in his film, and I said no. Then my dad told me that you have been rejecting all your roles for the past one year. So if you choose that, then you have to start from scratch. That is how it happened". The film was a two-part movie , first part titled "Magadheera", second part was titled as "Magadheera - The King of Magadha". Both were dubbed into Telugu as "Indra" and Tamil as "Naan Avanillai".The music composed by Akil Kumar. Lyrics by Vaali,Ananta Sriram & Yugabharathi. All songs were hit Director Ram Gopal Varma says in an interview that he imagined the movie to be like "The Godfather" just before casting the lead actors. "I had this image in my head of Ram Charan and everything I saw him doing. I was watching him everyday for just three months before I casted him in the role". "But since this is a Bollywood film made in India, we can't go on shooting in Italy. We have to shoot it in our own country. So we decided to shoot certain portions in that area. So then the first question became - how do I transport those people from Italy? The second question was, how do I give them an Indian look , as if they were from India", Ram Gopal Varma said. Director Ram Gopal Varma says he found it very difficult to find a suitable heroine for a six-month shoot. And it was almost by chance that he met Ramya Krishna, who he discovered through her pictures on the Internet. "I met her and asked her if she could learn Telugu in three months?" She said yes and two days later she agreed to be part of the film". cfa1e77820
